- Rubina is a gifted adopt from the lovely
I had been wanting a Blind Lace adopt for quite some time, but was always unable to get one for one reason or another. However upon mentioning how much I loved this species to Haru she began to help me look for a Lace. She found one I adored, and surprised me by buying and gifting it to me she spoils me so rotten QuQ <3
As such, I have a particularly huge love for this bbie, and have been trying very hard to get her personality and backstory to be perfect. That she came with all the art for the character the previous owned had collected beforehand, it has played a dramatic effect on how I am making her character.
- Her use of having a mirror as an artifact has been a particular focal point for me. For a child of a species that was blinded because of their own obsession over their reflections, it seemed like it would be a beautiful oxymoron that the mirror would now give her a form of sight. When she is channeling her magic into her mirror staff, she is able to sense the emotions of those around her as hazes of energy. With enough people filling a room, she would even be able to get a rough view of area through those hazes. It would be her gift, and her curse. She would always be able to tell if someone was weaving a lie, and it has damaged more than a little of her own self image. However, with her ever loyal Gardenia at her side and her friends, Rubina is able to cope with the emotions.
- Rubina's personality is a carefully balanced one. She is gentle yet stubborn. Ambitions, yet timid. She is the type of person that should be a leader, yet her ever present insecurities limit her in more ways than one. Because of this she can come off as cold, even manipulative at times, but those who take the time to know her learn that she is playful, optimistic, and sincere. Even if she can be emotional and stubborn.
- Loves soft and fluffy materials, like velvet, suede, and good quality cotton. Fabrics and materials like this is what she prefers. She will often stay away from silk or other slick material. Her favorite materials are Egyptian cotton (or the worlds equivalent) and velvet.
- Constantly has a smile/smirk on her face. Even when she feels like she is going to crumble into nothing, Rubina is always smiling. Often times this leads people to believe she is a cold woman, but in truth it was a trick that Velvet tried to teach her when she was young. If she just kept smiling, then one day it would not be a false smile.
- From her design and her photos, I honestly cannot tell if she is supposed to have a skirt or it is a short unitard under her vest and corset.
So may head cannon is...she switches the blue underclothing of her outfit in between a blue slip dress and a form fitting blue unitard (depending on her mood). - Velvet (her Gardenia partner) will braid her long hair for her and will often brush her tail fur as well. It is a comfort thing between both partners. Velvet feels better being able to pamper and mother Rubina, and Rubina is more than happy to let her friend do such a thing. It is habit that was formed from when Rubina was only a small child.
- Rubina lives in a small house outside of town. It is well built and in the center of a forest and meadow where hardly anyone would visit. A merchant visits her bi-weekly to sell supplies to her, and in return she trades him poultices and remedies that she makes from the forest.
And now...time for Siri!

- When I designed her outfit, I designed it to be intricate yet as functional as possible. Siri is supposed to be very warm and affectionate, and ultimately feminine. Yet she is a warrior, and needs function. Though her outfit doesn't give her much protection, that is not its purpose. She is unrestricted by her clothing, and the multiple ties on her waist and shoulder that keeps it from being a hindrance when dressing or undressing.
(here's what her outfit looks like from behind)
- When designing the holder for her Crystarium (the crystal that is needing to advance in lvl in her rp group
) I had multiple ideas for how to implement her crystarium into her outfit. My original idea was to attach her crystarium to her headgear via chains, so it would hang on her forehead. That idea was quickly discarded, however, once I realized that every time she moved -or heaven forbid JUMP- the large crystal would slam into her forehead and knock the poor viera out. This idea has actually formed an idea for a comic, which I plan to one day draw x'D
So instead, it now hangs quite peacefully off her hip and onto her thigh, and is attached to her outfit to it won't wiggle around. - When I was first creating Siri, I wanted her to almost opposite of my other DA group OC, Vivian. The reason was simple. Though I loved my Vivian to death, there was a lot of quirks in her personality that made it very hard to interact with others in the group, especially since I was a late comer. Whereas Vivian was polite and sometime almost acted shy, Siri is young, energetic, and has no issues with interacting with others and asking questions. It was my hope that by gearing her to be so different from my noble/quite Vivian, that she would develop more through interactions with the group, and not purely through the main event story line.
- When designing Siri's color scheme, I wanted to keep her dainty looking and fragile. Though I wanted to keep in line with the designs of Final Fantasy XII's viera, the rp group does not take place in that world and that gave me some freedom. Because of this, I wanted to make her young, and almost naive, but have her outfit reflect her budding wisdom. Though she is a viera bby, she is over 40 xD
Thus I made it cannon that Siri sews all of her own clothing, and has basic understanding of metalworking. - Siri and her chocobo has an extremely strong tie. It is supposed to be that it was love at first sight with that pair, and Siri spoils her little "Choirboy" rotten. His actual name, Anchovy, was decided by my friend and co-worker. I couldn't figure out a name that had Cho in it, and so....google to the rescue! She died laughing at the idea of Anchovy, and even when I got to the name of Choirboy and liked it more, she was so adamant on me naming him Anchovy that I...I agreed with her. It added some fun to his personality, and gave the choc more depth.
- Siri was always meant to have a mature mindset. The reason is, she was one of few children in her village. A small hunting village, it was mostly filled with elderly or those who could not fight. As such, she was asked to help the village from an early age, and when she wasn't she listened closely to the tales of adventure that were told. She craved that adventure, and began to explore as soon as she was deemed old enough.
- Though she grew up in a forest, Siri strongly dislikes insects. She has no logical reason as to why that is, though she could easily blame it on the giant insects that prowled her village. She does not like any bug, big or small however.
- Due to her village having a more communal living approach to things, leaving her village was a shock for Siri in the beginning. Things were not shared as freely, and that surprised her.
Thus she tends to like areas that are often shared between people (an example being the kitchen or common room of their guildhouse) and will often be found on such areas lounging. When she is not spoiling her chocobo in the outside stables.
There we go! That took longer than I expected it to, honestly x'D
